How to Use the LinkedIn Profile Analyzer

Analyze LinkedIn profiles from PDF files to gain insights into personality traits (DISC & Big Five), communication styles, potential pain points, and generate AI-powered personalized email templates.

How to Use the Analyzer

  1. Get the Profile PDF:
    • Log in to LinkedIn on your browser.
    • Navigate to the profile you want to analyze.
    • Use LinkedIn's option to "Save to PDF" or your browser's "Print to PDF" function to create a PDF file of the profile. Ensure the main content (About, Experience, Education, Skills) is included.
    • (Alternatively, if using the Anaxon AI Chrome Extension, data might be sent automatically when viewing a profile, indicated by a success message on this page).
  2. Navigate to Analyzer: Go to the LinkedIn Profile Analyzer page (replace # with `url_for` later).
  3. Upload PDF: Click the "Choose File" button and select the LinkedIn profile PDF you saved.
  4. Force Refresh (Optional): Check the `Force refresh` box if you want the system to ignore any previously cached analysis results for this exact file and perform a completely new analysis. Use this if the profile was recently updated or you suspect the cache is outdated.
  5. Analyze: Click the button. A spinner will indicate processing. Wait for the analysis to complete.

Understanding the Analysis Results

Once the analysis is complete, several result cards may appear:
Personality Toggle: If both DISC and Big Five analyses are available, toggle buttons ( / ) will appear near the top, allowing you to switch between viewing the DISC results card or the Big Five results card. The Trait Visualization card (keywords) is typically associated with the DISC view.
  • DISC Analysis Card:
    • Displays the primary DISC personality profile identified (e.g., D, IS, DC).
    • Shows scores for each trait (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, Conscientiousness).
    • Includes a button to save the DISC results (often as PDF via print).
  • Big Five Analysis Card: (View selected via toggle)
    • Explains the Big Five traits (Openness, Conscientiousness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Neuroticism).
    • Shows a **Radar Chart** visualizing the profile's scores across the five dimensions.
    • Provides **Key Insights** based on the most prominent traits identified.
    • Offers **Communication Recommendations** tailored to the Big Five profile.
  • Trait Analysis Visualization Card: (Typically shown with DISC view)
    • **Personalization Profile:** May show inferred Industry, Role, and potential Pain Points based on the profile text.
    • **Trait Distribution Chart:** A bar chart showing the overall weighted scores for the main DISC traits.
    • **Keyword Highlighting:** Displays the profile text with keywords highlighted according to DISC traits. Use the filter buttons (, , etc.) to show keywords related only to specific traits. This helps you see the language patterns indicating different personality aspects.
  • LLM Analysis Card: (Appears after clicking "Proceed to AI Assessment")
    • Displays deeper insights, summaries, or interpretations generated by a secondary Large Language Model analysis.
    • Includes a button (often triggers print-to-PDF).
  • Email Generator Card: (Appears after main analysis, often below Visualization/LLM cards)
    • Allows you to generate personalized email templates.
    • **Sender/Product Info (Optional):** Fill in details about yourself (Name, Title, Org) and your product/company to make the generated emails more relevant and personalized.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use a high-quality PDF export directly from LinkedIn if possible. Scanned or poorly formatted PDFs may not analyze correctly.
  • Ensure the PDF includes key sections like "About", "Experience", and "Skills".
  • Use the "Force refresh" option if you've analyzed the same PDF recently but know the online profile has significantly changed.
  • Utilize the Keyword Highlighting feature to understand *why* the tool assigned certain DISC traits.
  • Fill in the optional Sender/Product details in the Email Generator for more effective, personalized outreach templates.
  • Remember that personality analysis is an interpretation; use the insights as guidance, not absolute fact.
